Her Story

Rooted in Trent Lakes.

Welcome! I am happy you chose to learn more about me, and I congratulate you for taking the first step in caring who represents you on Trent Lakes Council.

I am a 57 year old woman living with my husband Don and our 4 dogs in beautiful Trent Lakes. We moved here full time in 2018 — but our connection to this community goes back much further. For about 10 years prior, we vacationed here, then moved our trailer to Birch Cove Trailer Park, and eventually purchased a cottage on the lake. Trent Lakes has been part of our hearts for a long time.

Originally from Brantford, Ontario, I spent 26 years working for the City of Brantford before relocating here. During that time, I served primarily as the Mayor's Assistant and City Council's Assistant in the City Clerk's office, and also as Executive Assistant to the Director of Community Development. That experience gave me deep, firsthand knowledge of how local government works — and how it should work for the people it serves.

Through my role with the City, I was involved in major community initiatives including Operation Facelift, a comprehensive effort to rejuvenate Brantford's downtown that included extensive public consultation, strategic planning, and successful execution. I also clerked and managed a number of committees reporting to City Council, including the Environmental Policy Advisory Committee, the Brant-Brantford Drinking & Driving Committee, and the Committee of Adjustment.

Outside of work, I volunteered at many local events and am proud to have served as Co-Chair of the Brant United Way Airshow and Military Contact for many years. Community involvement isn't something I do for a résumé — it's simply who I am. I'm running for Trent Lakes Council because I believe this community deserves a representative with real experience, genuine care, and the knowledge to make a difference.
